Provided to graduate students who have
completed original research related to distillers grains production,
feeding and uses.
INFORMATION:
These scholarships
will be provided by full member companies of Distillers Grains
Technology Council (DGTC). Some of those providing past scholarships or
funds are; ADM; Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc.; Land O’Lakes Purina
Feeds; and Phibrochem, etc. Judges of scholarships will be from
full-member companies that provided funding. Winners of scholarships
will receive either $750 or $500 and have approved travel expenses and
symposium registration paid.
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
1.Candidate must be a current graduate
student of a USA or Canadian college or university.
2.Must
fill out the attached application form that briefly describes their
research work, results and new knowledge contribution. Plus, contain
their research advisors signature.
3.Applicants research must be original and
provide new information in one or more of the following areas; animal
nutrition, production/distribution, or other applications/uses.
4.Research previously published or presented
is eligible if it has not been published or presented more than nine (9)
months before symposium.
5.If
distillers grains is utilized or produced as part of the research, then
it must meet the legal definition as printed in the American Feed
Control Officials (AAFCO) Official Publication for Distillers Grains
Products. Details for procurement of this publication is at
www.aafco.org.
6.Completed applications must be submitted by
e-mail by March 16, 2012 to Charlie Staff,
chstaf01@louisville.edu. If a response of receipt is not
received then call and fax application.
7. Scholarship winners:
a) Will be notified.
b) Must attend the DGTC
Symposium March 16-17, 2012
and if this is not possible their research advisor will be asked to
attend to receive the award for them.
c) Required to prepare a poster of their research
and they or research advisor will be available to answer questions while it is posted during the symposium;
d) Scholarship award checks and certificates will be
presented as part of the symposium program.
